We have been providing Santa Rosa CalGreen services for over a decade. As specialists in CalGreen we are extremely familiar with the Santa Rosa CalGreen permitting process.

It is important to understand that Santa Rosa has the most extensive CalGreen requirements in the state. In addition, the city requires field verification that all CalGreen code items are  fully compliant before an occupancy permit is issued.

This final inspection can turn into delays and additional costs if all the CalGreen code requirements are not met. For this reason, it’s important to have a CalGreen specialist preparing your CalGreen checklist and reviewing your permit plans.

Did you know that all of the CalGreen code requirements are not shown on the Santa Rosa CalGreen Checklist? This is a trap that many home owners, builders and architects fall into. Just because you provided a checklist does not mean all of the code requirements have been met!

At CalGreen Energy Services our standard checklist service includes a detailed review of all of your permit plans to ensure all of the CalGreen code requirements are shown properly. If any items are missing, we will either add those requirements to our CalGreen Checklist drawing or send a list of notes to you to insert into your drawings. We make sure there are no surprises when the final CalGreen Inspection comes around.

The CalGreen Specialists

CalGreen is all we do. We are specialists in CalGreen. Since CalGreen is our only focus we are able to bring a higher level of professionalism and knowledge to your project.

Santa Rosa has adopted the more stringent CalGreen Tier 1 Voluntary Measures. These measures place more requirements on energy and water efficiency as well as many other impacts on your project. A part of the Tier 1 requirements is the need to select up to five different “electives”. Some of these electives can cost you thousands of dollars. We help our clients select the most cost effective electives for your project. This is another reason why a CalGreen specialist makes sense for your project.

The Non-specialist Companies Offering CalGreen Services

A number of local companies offer CalGreen services as an “added revenue stream” to their primary business. These include consulting engineers and Title 24 consultants. Their lack of detailed CalGreen code knowledge, and the part-time nature of their service, is not ideal for your project.

Many of these companies will take your money – and check every box on the checklist. It’s very typical for exactly this to happen. The building owner then ends up paying for every item that is check at permit submittal – even though some of these cost items are not actually required. That’s right – you do not have to comply with every item on the checklist! It takes a CalGreen specialist who has detailed knowledge on the code and it’s interpretations to ensure you do not over-commit on your CalGreen Checklist submittal.

Our Santa Rosa CalGreen services cost less than your local consulting engineer and on par with your “discount” Title 24 consultant. Call us anytime. We openly discuss our fees – and our expertise in CalGreen, and the construction industry in general.

What your consultant may not understand is that you do not have to comply with every CalGreen or Tier 1 requirement!

Santa Rosa ICC Specialist

At CalGreen Energy Services we have been involved in the design and construction industry for many decades. We understand the intent behind the CalGreen requirements. As a result, we are able to critically review your project and understand where some the requirements don’t apply. When submitting for permit we clearly state for the permit reviewers why they are not applicable for your project.

If necessary we will deal directly with the Santa Rosa Building Department to ensure your project does not get unfairly burdened with inapplicable CalGreen requirements. THIS is the difference a CalGreen specialist can bring to your project. Fewer requirements mean lower construction costs, fewer constructability issues and fewer change orders. A CalGreen Energy Services we can save your project time and money – and we can do it at rates comparable to our competitors.

We respond quickly to emails and voicemails. We will put together a proposal for you right away and can typically start on your project within a couple of days.
